2016 Model Honda 400X ABS is a crossover adventure style bigbike equipped with 4-stroke DOHC 4-valve in-line 2-cylinder 400cc engine.
Honda 400X is popular as a model that can be used in a wide range of applications from city driving to touring, equipped with an engine with smooth output characteristics from low/middle rotation range to high rotation range in a powerful crossover style that stirs the spirit of adventure. The exterior design of the 400X has been remodeled and renewed. This 2016 model was released on February 19th (Friday).
The 400X inherits the DNA of the flagship model VFR1200X crossover concept, which was the flagship model of the crossover style (at that time). It has been redesigned to follow the dynamic styling concept “FEEL THE ADVENTURE FORM” that raises the spirit of adventure. This was partly due to the adoption of miniaturized LEDs for the headlights. Also, for a more tourer-like feature, the screen, which can be adjusted in height in two steps, standard and high, was 100mm taller than the previous model before it could be switched. Newly designed headlights that use LEDs and LED tail lamps that incorporate a new clear inner lens and have excellent visibility. Furthermore, by adopting a large windscreen with a height extended by 100 mm, the windbreak effect has been greatly increased, and both comfortable driving performance and styling that creates a presence at high speeds have been achieved. The design of the front part has LED position lamps placed on the upper left and right ends of the headlights to create a fearless look. In addition, on the side of the car body, we adopted stripes with a tire pattern as a motif, which makes us imagine a sophisticated and powerful crossover style.
The front suspension is equipped with a preload adjuster that can be adjusted according to the usage conditions. In addition, the ride quality has been improved by changing the settings.
The fuel tank uses a hinge-type cap that is convenient when refueling. In addition, we are working to improve convenience by adopting a brake lever that can be adjusted in 5 steps according to the size and grip strength of the rider’s hand. This is a model equipped with ABS.

Power unit
The operation load of the gear change pedal is reduced and operated while maintaining the characteristics of the water-cooled 4-stroke DOHC 4-valve in-line 2-cylinder 400cc engine, which has a reputation for smooth and easy-to-use output characteristics from low and medium revs to high revs. By improving the feeling, it is possible to drive comfortably even in urban areas where there are many gear changes.
Body/Equipment
For comfortable driving on the highway, the windscreen has been extended 100 mm upward, and the screen position can be selected from two, standard and high, to greatly improve windproof performance. In addition, by installing a duct at an appropriate position on the windscreen, the pressure difference between the front and back of the rider is reduced to ensure comfort, and by suppressing turbulence around the rider’s head, it is caused by the running wind. The burden on the rider has been reduced.
By adding a preload adjustment mechanism to the front suspension, it is possible to ride in a riding posture that suits the rider’s preference according to the situation such as 1 person riding, 2 people riding, and load capacity. In addition, a blue alumite-treated fork cap has been adopted to create a luxurious feel around the handlebars.
Equipped with a large capacity 17L fuel tank to secure a cruising range. In addition, a hinge structure type fuel cap is used to improve convenience when refueling with gasoline.
