This Honda CBR1000F or also kown as Honda Hurricane” has been exported to Europe and the United States since 1986, and was released in Japan in April 27th 1993, and has been well received as a model with excellent total balance that achieves both sports performance and comfortable cruising performance. It is a large sports model that pursues excellent maneuvering performance by installing a front / rear wheel interlocking brake system and thoroughly centralizing the mass of each part.
Taking advantage of the powerful and generous output characteristics unique to a large displacement engine, you can enjoy a wide range of dynamic driving from urban areas to highways and winding roads that are not effective, and the epoch-making front and rear wheel interlocking brake system for motorcycle.
Honda CBR1000F designed for veteran riders who have a large sports model motorcycle license.
1993 Honda CBR1000F SC31 Review
The Honda CBR1000F front/rear wheel interlocking brake system is different from general two-wheeled vehicle brakes that brake only the front wheels for lever brakes and only for the rear wheels for pedal brakes, regardless of whether the lever or pedal is operated, both front and rear wheels. By distributing the braking force and operating both the lever and pedal together, it is possible to brake with a distribution close to the ideal front/rear braking force distribution characteristics for obtaining maximum deceleration, and the behavior during braking. It is an epoch-making one developed for the purpose of reducing change as much as possible.
This system generates braking fluid pressure on the rear wheels by a mechanical servo mechanism installed on the upper part of the front wheel brake caliper during braking, and also uses a newly developed PCV (Proportional Control Valve) for motorcycles to apply fluid to the rear wheels. It is a system based on a new concept that mechanically controls the pressure and transmits the hydraulic pressure to the 3-pot caliper to distribute the braking force close to the ideal. In addition, even though it is a front/rear interlocking system, by realizing the same operation method as the conventional front/rear independent system, it is his system that even people who are accustomed to braking so far can operate it without discomfort.
The engine of Honda CBR1000F is equipped with water-cooled, 4-cycle, DOHC, in-line 4-cylinder, 998cc, and has powerful output characteristics in the middle and low rev range, which is frequently used, and realizes even more powerful and comfortable running even in the high rev range. Furthermore, by adopting the VP type for the carburetor, responsiveness that responds swiftly to delicate accelerator operations is realized. In addition, the adoption of a 1-axis secondary balancer reduces engine vibration and realizes excellent comfort during cruising.
The Honda CBR1000F‘s frame and suspension adopt a steel twin tube frame that balances suppleness and rigidity at a high level, and a lightweight and highly rigid large diameter (41 mm) cartridge type front spoke and smooth damping force characteristics. The pro-link type rear suspension that adopts the damper structure that demonstrates the above, and the lightweight 3-spoke aluminum wheels, etc., realize a comfortable ride, and it is excellent due to the thorough centralization of mass of each part. It has both steering performance.
The body has a fully covered design with low air resistance in pursuit of total air management, providing excellent aerodynamic balance, and the flash-surfaced front cowl and windscreen reduce rider fatigue due to wind.
In addition, rear grab rails and retractable loading hooks that are useful for touring etc. are installed in 4 places on the left and right, making it easy to use.
In this way, the Honda Hurricane CBR1000F has high performance due to the powerful engine characteristics unique to big bikes, sharp and sophisticated styling, the newly developed front and rear wheel interlocking brake system, and thorough mass concentration. It is a large sports bike that pursues excellent maneuverability and comfort.
