Early Life

Lee Daehwi (이대휘) was born on January 29, 2001, in Seoul, South Korea. He spent a significant part of his childhood abroad, living in Osaka, Japan, and Los Angeles, USA. This international upbringing helped him become fluent in English and Japanese in addition to his native Korean. Daehwi showed an early interest in music and performing arts, which led him to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

Path to Stardom

Daehwi’s journey to stardom began when he passed the JYP Entertainment global audition in Los Angeles in 2015. Later, he moved to Brand New Music, where he trained extensively. In 2017, he competed in the hit survival reality show Produce 101 Season 2, representing his agency.
