SuperM (슈퍼엠) is a South Korean supergroup formed by SM Entertainment in collaboration with Capitol Records. Dubbed the “K-pop Avengers,” the group debuted in 2019 with seven top-tier artists from SM’s biggest boy bands.

Formation and Debut

SuperM was formed by SM Entertainment in collaboration with Capitol Records and was officially announced on August 7, 2019. The group consists of members from SM Entertainment’s existing boy groups: Taemin (SHINee), Baekhyun and Kai (EXO), Taeyong and Mark (NCT 127), and Ten and Lucas (WayV).

SuperM debuted on October 4, 2019, with their self-titled EP SuperM. Their debut single, “Jopping,” quickly gained international attention, making them the first K-pop group to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Rise to Fame

Following their debut success, SuperM embarked on their first tour, “We Are The Future Live,” performing in multiple cities across North America and Asia. Their high-energy performances and unique group dynamic made them a global sensation.

In 2020, they released their first full-length album, Super One, featuring hit songs like “100” and “One (Monster & Infinity).” The album charted high on global music charts and solidified their status as a top-tier K-pop group.
