Infinix Hot 30i Reviews
Infinix Hot 30i Android smartphone. |
So, what about the overall performance? Check out the following Infinix Hot 30i review.
Cool Design
In this Hot 30i, Infinix presents its mid-range design concept to the entry-level segment. Unlike the previous Hot series line which still had a strong feel of a beginner smartphone, in this latest device Infinix wraps it with a cool design.
The physical construction of the Hot 30i is square with a flat surface. Similar to the latest Zero series. On the back, there are two large round camera lenses accompanied by a small round LED flash. This camera module formation is like a contemporary flagship smartphone.
The back looks even more stunning with the presence of a glass-like layer, as well as unique lines with a special pattern that will emit a gradation of colors like diamonds. However, this glossy design makes the back of the Hot 30i easy to get dirty and easy to leave fingerprints.
Regarding comfort when held and used, it seems you don’t need to worry. The reason is, this smartphone has a fairly light weight with a weight of only around 191 grams. The body is also fairly thin, only 8.4mm thick. Suitable for carrying when hanging out with friends.
Moreover, the Hot 30i also comes with a choice of trendy colors. There are Glacier Blue, Mirror Black and Diamond White. Incidentally, the tested unit is black, aka Mirror Black.
On the right side of the body there are volume buttons and a fingerprint sensor panel that also functions as a power button.
The fingerprint sensor complements Face Unlock as a security feature, as well as to make it easier for you to unlock the screen quickly.
On the left side of the body, the Infinix Hot 30i places the SIM card compartment. To open it, use the PIN ejector provided in the sales package.
In this SIM card slot, you will find two trays for operator SIM cards and one for an additional microSD memory card.
Moving to the bottom of the body. There is a 3.5mm audio jack, microphone, USB-C charger hole and speaker cone (mono).
Oh yes, for those who want to protect the device body from scratches easily, Infinix includes a softcase in the sales package.
Clear Screen
The Infinix Hot 30i uses a 6.56-inch HD+ (720×1612 pixels) IPS LCD screen with a 20:9 aspect ratio. This screen has a brightness of up to 500 nits (peak).
Sharp and clear enough to display photos, videos, games and application content, even when used directly in sunlight.
The screen of Infinix’s latest smartphone fills almost most of the front area, making the content display look wide when viewed by the eye. In this Infinix Hot 30i review, we found a few minuses that are often gossiped about by netizens who are all-righteous, namely the thick bezel in the lower chin area of the screen.
In fact, with a price tag of only around one million, the screen specifications carried by the Hot 30i are quite capable.
As a note for netizens, in the technical data attached by Infinix, the Hot 30i actually supports WIDVINE L1 certification, which means it can present HD shows when watching Netflix movies.
The screen response when used to browse the menu also feels smooth, because this smartphone screen already supports a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch sampling rate.
The plus point is, you can set the screen refresh rate options according to your needs. Starting from the highest 90Hz, the standard 60Hz, or you can also set it automatically by selecting the Auto-switch Refresh Rate option.
Other advantages also offered by the Hot 30i screen include support for Dark Mode, Eye Care and fairly complete personalization options thanks to the support of the XOS v12.0 interface based on Android 12.
Best Camera in its Class
This is one of the main advantages that sells the Infinix Hot 30i. In this device, Infinix has embedded a dual-camera configuration with a fairly large resolution, namely 50MP for the main camera and another AI camera whose resolution is not specifically stated.
In accordance with the tagline it carries “Shining Portrait Photography”, the Hot 30i offers the best portrait photo capabilities in its class through a number of additional camera modes that are certainly fun to explore.
Regarding the quality of the shots, the camera on this device is capable of producing photos with sharp details in conditions with abundant lighting. However, it is less than optimal if it is in a place with minimal light.
To get around this, Infinix presents a Dual LED flash on the back to simply add lighting when taking photos in a rather dark place. Or you can also activate the HDR option to increase image sharpness with a more maximum dynamic range and exposure.
The camera interface offered by the Hot 30i is fairly standard. You will find a number of camera modes such as Slow motion, videoAI cam, beauty, portrait and AR shot. Unfortunately, there is no Pro or manual mode option on this device.
For the Night mode option, it is also set automatically. So, when you are in a dark location, the camera system will automatically detect the surrounding light and set it to night mode to produce better shots.
For those who like vlogging, the Hot 30i rear camera can also be used to record videos with Full HD 1080 @ 30fps quality.
Meanwhile, for those who want to take selfies, the 5MP front camera of this device is supported by artificial intelligence (AI). The results of this selfie will look smoother and shinier.
To maximize it, you can also activate filters, beauty effects and portrait mode which can make the background image look blurry.
Curious about the photo results in the Infinix Hot 30i review, you can see them below.
In our opinion, for a cellphone that is priced at only around 1 million, the results of the Infinix Hot 30i camera shots are quite good and interesting. Still worthy of being used to capture halal bihalal moments of Eid and share via social media accounts.
Infinix Hot 30i Performance Review
In terms of performance, the Infinix Hot 30i carries the MediaTek Helio G37 chipset. This engine carries an octa-core CPU configuration consisting of 4×2.3GHz Cortex-A53 and 4×1.8GHz Cortex-A53. Meanwhile, for graphics, it relies on PowerVR GE8320.
To support overall performance, this smartphone is supported by a fairly large memory capacity. In fact, we think it is super large for the size of an entry-level smartphone on the market today.
More completely, this smartphone is supported by 128GB of internal storage that can be expanded using a microSD card up to a maximum capacity of 1TB. Large enough to store documents, photos, videos, audio or other important files, right? So, don’t be afraid of running out of memory.
Now the main highlight is the RAM capacity. In this smartphone, Infinix has embedded a default Random Access Memory of 8GB. Interestingly, the Hot 30i is supported by the MemFusion feature, namely virtual RAM that can be added with a choice of up to 8GB taken from part of the ROM that is not being used.
Through this combination, the Infinix Hot 30i seems to carry a 16GB RAM capacity which is certainly super large for a million-dollar smartphone. Interesting, isn’t it?
For overall performance, this smartphone is able to run the multitasking process smoothly. Its acceleration in opening and operating standard applications and games is lag-free.
As proof, we conducted tests by playing a number of popular games such as Free Fire, Mobile Legends, and COD Mobile.
There were no significant obstacles when playing Free Fire or Mobile Legends. Even in this Infinix Hot 30i review for Free Fire, the graphics and FPS settings can be set to high levels. Likewise for Mobile Legends, the settings can be set to the right.
The touch response when playing these two games feels smooth and fluid. Aiming at opponents, choosing weapons, activating skills can run smoothly and lead you to victory.
Meanwhile, for COD Mobile, in this Infinix Hot 30i review, the game system provides graphic setting options in the low option and Frame Rate in High. The game process can run smoothly. It only feels a little laggy when attacking and avoiding enemy attacks.
For those who are wondering if this smartphone can play Genshin Impact, the answer is yes. However, with the chipset specifications carried by the Hot 30i, of course it will lag. So it is advisable not to install this game.
With game mode support, you can still play games casually without fear of being disturbed by notifications and so on. Through a special pop-up, you can set to hide notifications, record the screen while playing games, reject calls and so on. Quite interesting!
For those of you who are still curious about the performance of this smartphone, we also conducted tests using several benchmark applications. The Hot 30i shows quite good performance for a million-dollar smartphone with an AnTuTu v9.6.0 score reaching 144 thousand. One level better than its predecessor, the Infinix Hot 20i, which only averaged 102 thousand.
Infinix Hot 30i Battery
A fairly large battery capacity is a special attraction for consumers to choose a smartphone, and this is fulfilled by the Infinix Hot 30i.
Equipped with a battery capacity of 5000 mAh, this smartphone will be able to support its users’ activities for more than one day on a single charge.
This is of course also inseparable from the support of a number of features and a reliable power management system from Infinix. This device supports Power Marathon which contains several important features such as Power Boost, Ultra Power Saving, Smart Power Saving Scene, Battery Optimization and Battery saver.
Based on the test results, for a battery position of 75% only, the Hot 30i can provide normal usage time of up to 13 hours and standby time of up to 18 hours.
Unfortunately, this smartphone only includes standard charging technology, which is 10W. However, in our opinion, the charging system on this device is quite adequate and good. It only takes 2 minutes to charge up to 5%.
Oh yes, the sales package still includes a 10W charger adapter, with a USB-C charger cable.
