Compared to its predecessors, the Note 40S is indeed positioned to accommodate the desires of Note 40 Series consumers who crave a luxurious design plus tough specifications, but at a much more affordable price.
The Infinix Note 40S is predicted to bring three main advantages, namely the 120Hz 3D Curve screen, All-Around FastCharge 2.0 plus 20 Watt Wireless MagCharge and Dual Speakers with Sound by JBL.
So, what about the other features and specifications it carries, is there anything special besides the three advantages mentioned earlier, or is it just ordinary?

Infinix Note 40S Review
Let’s take a look at the complete review of the cool Infinix Note 40S smartphone below.
Infinix Note 40S Design
Luxurious and classy. That’s the first impression when seeing the Infinix Note 40S design when it is removed from the packaging box.
The overall design appearance is not much different from its celebrities in the Note 40 Series line. It has a thin body construction, with the sides of the body curved at almost 55 degrees. This concept is like a flagship smartphone made by a global brand that is priced at tens of millions of rupiah.
When compared to the Note 40 Pro+ 5G which was previously on the market, the body of the Note 40S is slightly thinner. Based on technical data, the thickness of the Note 40S body itself is 7.75mm.
Infinix claims that this design model is one of the most prominent attractions, and will be able to hypnotize consumers to at least immediately be amazed.
In terms of comfort, the design of the Note 40S is beyond doubt. When held, its dimensions feel right in the hand. Moreover, the Note 40S is also equipped with IP54 certification which is splash-resistant.
Infinix Note 40S comes with two color choices, namely Obsidian Black and Vintage Green. Incidentally, the Infinix Note 40S unit that tabloidpulsa.id reviewed was the black variant.
Each color variant has a different back cover texture. If the green variant offers a texture like orange peel, the black variant looks elegant with a rough texture and exudes a glamorous aura.
On the back, Infinix maintains the taste of the Note 40 Series through a camera module with a box-shaped and slightly protruding area. Infinix calls it Urban Panoramic Viewports.
The two camera sensors are positioned parallel to the more prominent bumper, and next to it is a camera sensor lined up with a round LED flash.
This is one of the unique body designs of the Note 40S which has also been in the previous series. Infinix calls it Active Halo, an attractive lighting model and the first in its class.
This Active Halo is supported by AI technology that can be personalized according to needs. Users can adjust the light effect with attractive colors.
Can be used as a marker for incoming calls, notifications, charging processes, games, music, startups and even voice assistants.
For additional compartments on the body, the Note 40S still accommodates what was in the previous series. The bottom has a SIM card slot, microphone, USB-C port, and speaker cone.
On the right side there are volume and power buttons, while the opposite side is plain. For the top, there is a speaker hole and the Sound by JBL logo.
Screen and Audio Quality
Moving on to the front. The Infinix Note 40S still maintains the typical screen model of the previous Note 40 Series, namely a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED with a resolution of 2436 x 1080 pixels (FHD +) with a pixel density of ~393ppi.
The screen also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, 1500Hz touch sampling, 2160Hz PWM dimming, TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification, 1300-nits peak brightness and is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass.
This means that in addition to offering a super clear and sharp sensation when displaying videos and images, the Infinix Note 40S screen is also fairly tough, because it is scratch-resistant.
In the sales package, Infinix also adds extra tempered glass protection. Just install it.
To provide extra comfort, the Note 40S offers complete personalization options related to the screen display. Starting from Color Style settings, Font size, adaptive brightness, to the High brightness mode option which can adjust the sharpness of the screen even in super bright lighting conditions.
This setting is important if you often use the Note 40S in bright sunlight.
There is also an option to set the screen refresh rate to Auto-switch, 120Hz, or fixed at 60Hz for comfort when scrolling on the screen surface or when playing games.
Like most flagship smartphone screens, the Note 40S also supports Widevine L1+ for streaming HD content on video platforms such as Netflix, or YouTube in 2K resolution at 60 fps.
Not to be missed, Infinix also pays close attention to eye health, and the Note 40S is equipped with eye care features and dark mode options.
If the multimedia content display is maximized thanks to its 120Hz AMOLED screen, the Infinix Note 40S is no slouch in terms of audio.
Equipped with Audio by JBL support, its stereo speakers are capable of offering loud volume and a good balance between treble and bass.
Stereo separation is also clearly audible. Overall, the sound quality of these speakers is very superior and classy.
Infinix Note 40S Performance
If the Pro+ 5G variant uses MediaTek Dimensity 7020, in this Note 40S Infinix has embedded the Helio G99 Ultimate chipset.
This chipset is built with 6nm fabrication and carries an octa-core processor consisting of Octa-core 2×2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 and 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55, and Mali G57 MC-2 graphics.
For performance, this innards is supported by 8GB RAM plus MemFusion up to 8GB as virtual RAM, and makes it have a total RAM capacity of up to 16GB with LPDDR4X technology.
As a storage space, there is a 256GB UFS2.2 storage which is large enough to store various files. Unfortunately, the Note 40S does not include a microSD expansion memory slot as extra storage space.
With this hardware combination, the Infinix Note 40S is able to run multitasking functions smoothly and lag-free. Opening several applications at once, browsing the internet, accessing social media to watching streaming video shows is also without any significant obstacles.
So what about gaming capabilities? The Note 40S is certainly also capable of being used as adequate gaming equipment.
This smartphone is also not half-hearted in pampering mobile gamers. In it there is support for the Game Mode feature that can improve the gaming experience.
In this Infinix Note 40S review, we tried playing several games such as Call Of Duty Mobile, PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends with settings that are right-aligned, the results are very satisfying.
For example, for the Mobile Legends settings, the graphics can be set to the Ultra level, with a Super refresh rate. Here, the frame rate level during play is fairly stable and there are no significant problems.
Meanwhile, for Genshin Impact which is quite draining on the performance of the innards, the graphics settings can be set to the lowest with a frame rate of 60 fps, so that the game can run smoothly.
In general, the gaming performance of the Infinix Note 40S can be said to be still quite good even though it is not the fastest in its class.
This capability is also inseparable from the support of AI technology in the Helio G99 Ultra chipset, where this chipset provides support for controlling temperature, as well as Xboost Frame Rate Control
We also tested the overall performance of the Note 40S using several benchmark applications, and the results were still quite good. In AnTuTu benchmark v10, the Note 40S was able to record a score of 430 thousand.
Here is a complete list of benchmark results in the Infinix Note 40S review using several favorite applications.
XOS Interface
The Infinix Note 40S carries the XOS 14 interface based on Android 14, which brings improvements in device usage.
Infinix also promises two years of major Android upgrades and three years of security patches for the Infinix Note 40 Pro+ 5G.
Another interesting feature that has also been equipped with artificial intelligence is the AI Wallpaper Generator. Just type in the image you want to create, wait a few seconds, and voila.
The app drawer looks clean with all apps arranged in alphabetical order, the four most recent apps at the top, and an easily accessible search bar.
Infinix also introduced the Dynamic Bar feature which is similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island.
This feature displays animations around the punch-hole when showing charging status, face unlock, voice recording, and when making calls.
Other special features include floating windows for multitasking, Smart Panel to launch apps in floating mode, Smart Hub to copy and paste content between apps, XClone to manage different accounts in the same social media app, Kids Mode, and most importantly NFC support.
One of the most important things about the Note 40S is the presence of Infinix’s signature voice-based smart assistant, Folax.
This smart assistant can be used to interact quickly and easily with the device’s featured features and applications via voice commands.
Interestingly, the latest version of Folax is supported by artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT.
Infinix Note 40S Camera Review
The Infinix Note 40S has a 108 megapixel main camera, unfortunately it is not equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS) like the Pro+ 5G variant. Even so, there is EIS technology that can be used to stabilize the camera when used.
For the second camera, this smartphone has a 2 megapixel Macro sensor that is capable of documenting photo details from a close distance.
Actually, there is still one more ‘camera circle’ on the back of this smartphone body. However, it is not explained whether the module is a camera lens or just a special sensor to support artificial intelligence functions when taking photos.
On the front, there is a 32 megapixel selfie camera equipped with an LED flash and can be used as a fill-light.
When associated with its target market, this kind of camera configuration is quite adequate for recording precious moments and sharing them on social media platforms.
Daytime photos from the 108-megapixel camera look good. Sharp details, consistent colors with natural conditions, and adequate saturation.
Dynamic range is quite wide and exposure is sometimes inconsistent, but not too disturbing.
Close-up shots are also very sharp, but you need to keep your hand steady because there is no macro mode.
Night photos also look good with sharp and detailed shots, even in very low light.
The selfie camera produces quite good images, sharp details and consistent colors, with a natural bokeh effect.
Face detection including the very edge when taking selfies with a bokeh effect is also quite good, no disturbing noise is seen.
Although only equipped with EIS, video recording during the day is still fairly good and stable. Of course, when the video recording process is taking place, the position of the grip on the smartphone must be really stable and not shaken.
Infinix Note 40S – Battery & Wireless Charging
Like the Infinix smartphone line recently, large battery capacity has become the standard, and in this Note 40S, Infinix has embedded a 5000 mAh battery capacity.
Although standard, this battery is capable of providing long usage time, even almost a full day. Of course with a normal usage style.
To help users optimize power consumption, Infinix has embedded the Cheetah X1 chip which is the result of Infinix’s internal development.
The Cheetah X1 combines three modules in one chip, namely the All-round support module, the high-precision power monitoring module and the security module. This combination ensures a faster and safer charging process.
This is also inseparable from the support of 33W Multi-Speed FastCharge technology. Although not the fastest at the moment, its capabilities are quite good at charging the battery.
In the Note 40S itself, Infinix includes three charging options, namely Low-Temp, Smart and Hyper.
When tested in this review using Smart mode, the Infinix Note 40S battery can be charged 50% in just about 31 minutes. While using Hyper Charging mode, the battery of this device is charged 50% in just about 25 minutes. Quite impressive.
Interestingly, for those of you who like to play games while charging your smartphone, on the Note 40S you can be more flexible and of course safe thanks to the support of the Bypass Charging feature.
Not only that, even though it is in the most affordable category in the Note 40 Series line, the Infinix Note 40S is also equipped with wireless charging technology (Wireless MagCharge) and MagPower is provided in the sales package.
For Wireless MagCharge itself, it supports 20W fast charging and is compatible for wireless reverse charging.
The plus point is that the Note 40S also supports reverse charge capabilities. So it can be used to charge other devices via a USB-C cable.
The use of Wireless MagCharge is even more optimal thanks to the support of a special casing equipped with special magnets, and this is also included in the sales package.
Conclusion
With all the advantages offered, the Infinix Note 40S is one of the best choices in the mid-range smartphone segment.
An elegant design, large screen with a high refresh rate, powerful performance, quality camera, and extraordinary battery life make this smartphone worth considering.
For those of you looking for a smartphone with high specifications but still affordable, the Infinix Note 40S is the answer.
Currently, the Infinix Note 40S can be obtained with a price tag of IDR 3,099,000 both online and offline. At the Infinix Official Store on the e-commerce platform, the Note 40S can be obtained at a special price of IDR 2.7 million.
