It has been quite a while since OPPO A77s was introduced in the Indonesian market. There are many interesting things that you can read in previous articles, including a capable camera, advantages that are present for the first time in the A series and so on. Well, now is the time for us to review the OPPO A77s which might be a special product from OPPO at the end of 2022.
OPPO A77s is sold at a fairly high price for the OPPO A series class, but it is certainly still more affordable than the Reno series. But this more affordable price does not make the A77s an ordinary A series product. This phone brings a number of high-end features that are the first introduction in the A series, plus other features that are quite tempting.

OPPO A77s Reviews
Design
OPPO A77s comes with an attractive design that reminds us of the OPPO Reno7 4G product, a Reno product that was introduced earlier this year. Using a classic and retro box shape, as well as a fiberglass back cover in sunset orange. Please note that this is only one of two available colors. And looking at the sales of the Reno7 4G with the same coloring, usually this sunset orange color will run out faster.
In addition to the fiberglass leather product in sunset orange, the OPPO A77s is also available in Starry black which carries the latest OPPO Glow technology. Making it resistant to minor scratches, non-slip and not easy to leave fingerprints.
So, the two color variants offered are actually equally good and offer their own advantages. It’s just through a different approach. Young people who want to look different, cheerful and active will be recommended to choose the Sunset Orange variant, while those who are mysterious, macho, but stylish can choose the starry black one.
This phone relies on a power button that also functions as a fingerprint sensor as one of the security modes, so you don’t have to bother drawing lines or entering secret codes every time you open the phone screen.
On the opposite side there are volume up and down buttons. There is something interesting here, especially in the ultra volume section which we will discuss in the software section.
On the back cover there is also a camera section consisting of 2 lenses. Namely the 50MP f/1.8 main camera and the 2MP f/2.4 mono camera. Both are arranged in a rectangular area that reminds us of the shape of an old-school camera tape player. Accompanied by an LED flash.
Meanwhile on the front, there is a screen that has a dew drop design, aka a small fringe at the top. To provide space for the 8MP f/2.0 front camera.
Display
OPPO A77s comes with a reliable display. Stretching 6.56 inches diagonally, this a-Si LCD panel screen displays HD+ resolution or the equivalent of 1612 x 720 pixels. But interestingly, this cellphone screen has a high refresh rate of 90Hz. Which will provide comfort when we browse content, such as via Instagram or TikTok.
In terms of color accuracy, the OPPO A77s screen can be said to be qualified, because it has a color gamut of 96% with a brightness of up to 600 nits.
Software
Coming at the end of October 2022, OPPO A77s brings a software system that can be said to be the most up to date. It is ColorOS 12.1 which brings a number of cool features. There is even one feature on the A77s, a new feature on the A series, namely RAM expansion up to 8GB. Just for information, the OPPO flagship that we are currently using, namely the OPPO Find X2 Pro, the maximum RAM addition is still at 7GB.
In addition to RAM expansion, ColorOS 12.1 on the OPPO A77s brings many features that will be widely used. For example, Games, which contains performance settings and features related to the comfort of playing games, Orelax, OPPO Store and so on.
Interestingly, this product is back with support for ultra linear Stereo Audio results, and a number of sound effect presets in collaboration with DIRAC. Also the Ultra Volume mode that we might need when we are in a noisy environment. The activation method is also fairly easy. Just press the volume up button, continuously until it exceeds the maximum limit, until the volume bar shows a number of 200% and different coloring.
OPPO A77s Hardware
OPPO A77s carries the same chipset as OPPO Reno7 4G. So not only the color choices are the same, but the internals are apparently the same using the Snapdragon 680 chipset. This chipset with 6nm fabrication made by Qualcomm carries an 8-core CPU consisting of 4 cores derived from Cortex A73 called Kryo 265 Gold has a clock speed of 2.4GHz and 4 cores derived from Cortex A53 called Kryo 265 Silver at 1.9 GHz.
Accompanied by the Adreno 610 GPU which is a mid-to-high-end graphics chip, then actually for displaying complex graphics, on paper it is already capable. It should also be noted that the Snapdragon 680 also carries a triple ISP that is responsible for processing photography. This has to do with the ability to take pictures up to 50MP. We will discuss it in the camera section.
Next, there is a memory in the form of 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM which can be added via the RAM expansion feature up to 8GB to reach 16 GB of RAM. Of course, this RAM expansion will utilize the size of the UFS 2.2 type ROM with a capacity of 128 GB.
Meanwhile, the battery capacity carried is 5000 mAh with 33W SuperVOOC charging. Allows us to charge the battery from zero to 50% in just 30 minutes.
OPPO A77s Camera
As previously mentioned, the OPPO A77s carries two rear cameras, consisting of a 50MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP mono camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The results of this camera’s photos when using normal mode are 3072 x 4080 pixels or can be said to be 12 MP. But with the existing sensor, as well as adequate ISP and software support, the OPPO A77s camera can also produce images with a resolution of 6144 x 8160 pixels aka 50MP.
We can activate this feature in the viewfinder. By touching the icon that says 50MP. Usually appears at the top of the viewfinder itself.
But if 50MP is still considered lacking, don’t worry. The OPPO A77s also has an Extra HD shooting feature that can produce images in large resolution, namely 9024 x 12032 pixels or equivalent to 108 MP. Produces dense photos, suitable for those who actually want to take only a few parts of the entire photo object that fits in the viewfinder. To then be cropped, without reducing the quality of the cropped image too much.
Cool, right? Considering this is the OPPO A Series, not Reno. But speaking of Reno, there is also one feature that makes the A77s cellphone camera similar to the OPPO Reno. Namely the Bokeh Flare Portrait feature. This feature is present on the A77s as the first to be present in the A series.
Although limited to the rear camera only, the presence of this feature must be given a thumbs up, because it has proven to be able to work well even in non-optimal lighting conditions.
Switching to the front camera, the OPPO A77s carries an 8MP camera. The results of photos using the front camera will be in size 2448 x 3264 pixels or in other words limited to 8MP only. But in terms of video recording, both the front and rear cameras can produce 1080p and 720p videos at 30 fps.
Conclusion
Bringing many new things to the A series, the OPPO A77s has a tempting value at the price offered. A capable camera, slick performance for both multitasking and casual gaming, and a charming design with a choice of colors and materials that look elegant.
