OPPO Find N3 Reviews: Designed for Greater Things

At least if you look for the most wow among the many features brought, we underline three main features. Namely from the design, screen and camera side. That is not only from the hardware side. But the readiness of the software brought by OPPO Find N3.

More Sensible Design

When we talk about foldable phones, what comes to mind is that we will carry a phone, which when folded is twice the thickness of a regular phone. Because there is a part that is folded, right?

What OPPO did was quite surprising because the Find N3 was not made too thick, even when compared to foldable products on the market. Just for information, the Find N3 has a thickness of only 11.7 mm, while the Galaxy Z Fold5 is at 13.4 mm. It’s only a few millimeters apart, but it’s quite visible when placed side by side.

This is possible because OPPO designed each surface to remain thin. This means that when the screen is folded open, it is only 5.8 mm thick. It is comfortable to use with two hands, whether for reading e-books, or office documents, whether in a quiet place or in a crowd.

It doesn’t cause any weird finger positions, and it’s still safe enough to use with one hand. And it’s proven to be strong. It’s a bit surprising actually, because even though it’s thin, this phone still carries an optimal heat dissipation system, a large battery, and even a camera with a stacked design aka periscope. Although there is indeed a part that looks a little thicker, namely in this camera section.

This is also seen when the phone is folded. OPPO Find N3 will look and feel like a regular phone. On the one hand, it doesn’t look too flashy, but on the other hand, it makes it comfortable to use, without having to learn and adapt.

OPPO Find N3 has a 6.31-inch Cover Screen with a standard 20:9 phone ratio screen, filling almost 91.8% of the phone’s surface when folded. This is the specification of most phones, so it’s natural that if we try this phone in a folded state, we won’t feel much strange.

For comparison, like the Galaxy Z Fold5, it makes the phone design feel more elongated and slimmer in the middle when the phone is folded. Like a small but long communicator. The aspect ratio is unusual, at 24.5: 9. It is taller than most phones out there.

And interestingly, this phone feels lighter. So the assumption that a foldable phone brings the dimensions of two phones into one is not proven here. It weighs only 239 grams. Even when compared to competitors, it is still lighter, because the Z Fold5 weighs 253 grams.

The Screen That’s Not Just There

It has been mentioned above that in terms of the screen, OPPO Find N3 brings a more interesting dimension. Especially when the screen is closed, we can use the outer screen or cover display like a regular cellphone screen. Because the size and aspect ratio are like that.

OPPO Find N3 users who don’t want to look flashy will use this outer screen a lot in their daily use, and that’s fine. You don’t have to learn any more to get the “feel” you’re looking for.

When the screen is opened, we will find a screen with a span of 7.82 inches, with a resolution of 2240 x 2268 pixels. It feels like an open book, because it is close to 1: 1 or square. Close, yes, not full square.

Meanwhile, when the phone is closed, there is a 6.31-inch cover screen, with a resolution of FHD+ 2484 x 1116 pixels, or an aspect ratio of 20:9.

Both displays are LTPO3 OLED displays with Dolby Vision that support refresh rates up to 120HZ. With peak brightness up to 2800 Nit, it is easier to read under bright light. Not only inside, but also outside.

Not to mention when we enter the UI. We greatly appreciate how OPPO with its ColorOS is able to present a number of interesting features related to the optimization of the wide inner screen.

The gestures and placement of the multitasking screen feel more intuitive. Where we can display 3 application windows simultaneously, or arranged in a row to the right, more neatly and feels more flowing.

Likewise when opening two applications that require a virtual keyboard. The system can recognize which application is active and when we type a word on the keyboard it will be recognized by the application in question.

Including the presence of 3 speakers that will be effective when we open the screen. The resulting audio is quite interesting and supports spatial output. Watching content will be more immersive.

When comparing it to one of the competitors, we found that the multitasking that Find N3 brings is more friendly to us. And it only has two speakers.

Flagship Phone, Camera Must Be Flagship!

Currently, OPPO has a flagship phone in the Find X series, namely the Find X6 Pro. Unfortunately, this product is not sold outside of China. Like a flagship product, this product carries the best camera owned by OPPO with a 1-inch sensor, a more than capable telephoto and development cooperation with Hasselblad.

Although not 100% the same, the spirit of the flagship phone was carried over to the Find N3. Somehow, the feature was able to be present on a phone that is very limited in design, namely a foldable.

It is proven that the sensor carried is no longer full 1 inch, OPPO made adjustments. But besides the sensor, all the flagship things have been embedded in the Find N3. Of course with various adjustments that are understandable.

The main sensor of this phone is a 1/1.43 inch sensor. With a 48 MP module. While the ultra-wide camera carries a smaller sensor, namely ½ inch with a resolution of 48 MP. But what makes it interesting is the presence of a telephoto camera with optical magnification of up to 3x in a resolution of 64 MP. If you look closely, it can be seen that this camera module is similar to the periscope lens on the Find X6 Pro. But OPPO did not officially mention it.

So it is not surprising that if we compare the OPPO Find N3 camera with competitors, this camera is able to produce good photos, both for low light scenarios, as well as magnification, and better telephoto portraits.
