Finally, the realme 10 Pro family is now available for the market. Presenting two variants of the realme 10 Pro and 10 Pro+, both of which bring a new experience on the screen side. Although not as flashy as the realme 10 Pro+, one of the most basic products, namely the realme 10 Pro 5G, still offers something interesting. Not only on the screen side, let’s review the realme 10 Pro 5G as a whole.

Although it is considered the most basic realme 10 Pro variant, it does not mean that the realme 10 Pro 5G that is present on our review table does not have its appeal. This product must be admittedly quite tempting, especially with the price offered. Indeed, the screen will be the main point. But besides that, there is also a camera, and also a stunning UI.

realme 10 Pro 5G Reviews

Classic Retro Design

Before discussing the screen, we must appreciate the design selection made by the realme team on this one device. The reason is that the realme 10 Pro 5G is designed with a classic retro shape. Where the edges of the phone are made square, but still provide a touch of curves at every corner. The retro aesthetic that we often find on flagship phones of the past.

The firm shape on the edges makes it comfortable to hold. Although it can’t be called very thin, this shape seems to reduce the fat effect that might be present if the shape of the phone still follows the 2.5D flow.

The product we reviewed has a Dark Matter color. This coloring will mainly be present on the back cover, but also present on all parts of the cellphone’s back, aka the edges of the phone that we called the classic retro box earlier.

In addition to this color, realme also provides another calmer color, namely Nebula Blue. Both use different approaches in terms of coloring, but use the same technology to make the back cover of this phone not easily dirty due to fingerprints, scratches from blunt objects or light impacts.

For those of you who claim to be mysterious, the Dark Matter color will suit your appearance. The condition is not to use the default silicone case, because it will make it look too glossy. Unfortunately, because basically the Dark Matter color tends to be matte, but still shows the glitter effect in the dark black color.

In optimal lighting conditions, we can see the glitter twinkling from the black color of the back cover. However, under the hot sun it will look more gray. Interesting coloring. But for those of you who want to look cheerful, Nebula Blue will be more suitable for you.

Still on the back cover we will also find two camera lenses that are made simple. As simple as two fairly large circles in the upper left corner of the back of the realme 10 Pro 5G phone that we are reviewing. Accompanied by one LED flash and realme writing far at the bottom.

The realme 10 Pro 5G smartphone does not carry a prominent power button. Replaced with a power button that is slightly recessed into the surface of the right side bone of the phone. Yes, according to our guesses, this means there is a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button.

This means that the realme 10 Pro 5G does not carry a sensor under the screen, which means this phone does not carry an AMOLED type screen. We will discuss further in the screen section. But before that, apart from the slightly recessed power button, above it is the volume button. There is something interesting on the volume side, because there is an ultraboom speaker feature. Will be discussed in the software and UI section in this realme 10 Pro 5G review.

There is a 3.5mm audio jack at the bottom accompanying the USB Type C charger jack. Also the bottom speaker cone. Meanwhile, at the top, precisely in the area around the earpiece, there is a speaker cone that makes this phone emit stereo audio from both sides.

Almost Bezel-less Screen

Moving to the front of the phone. This section is filled with an IPS LCD panel screen. Its span reaches 6.72 inches. Looking at the numbers, it looks big, but not really. This is because the realme 10 Pro 5G screen comes with almost no bezel. Especially on the right and left sides which have almost no gap with the square side bones. Only about 1 mm.

While the top and bottom are understandable, considering that the top will meet the earpiece as well as the second speaker cone. While the bottom is intended to control the phone screen.

Realme said that this is possible because they use RAZR technology. Allows the gluing between parts on this phone to become one unit without using glue so that it can look more elegant and thin.

If you use this phone without the default silicon case, then the realme 10 Pro 5G screen should come without a screen protector. If forced and you happen to use gesture control, the presence of the default screen protector can interfere with interactions on the edge of the screen.

Carrying FHD + resolution or around 1080 x 2400 pixels, the images and text displayed on the screen look sharp. This is the standard for eye comfort and must be present on a phone at the price offered by the realme that we reviewed, the realme 10 Pro 5G.

Interestingly, the realme 10 Pro 5G screen carries a dynamic Refresh Rate. The highest is at 120 Hz, but can go down to 30 Hz if needed. For example, when we activate the auto-switching feature, to watch videos on social media, it can have an impact on reducing excessive power usage or as an effort to save power.

The 120 Hz screen until this writing was made was mostly used for scrolling needs or browsing content more comfortably. Our eyes will not get tired easily because the image changes from the page changes that we scroll, occur faster than most cellphone screens.

For games themselves, in our experience, there are still not many that support it. The numbers 60 and 90 fps are quite capable for cellphone games. But in the future, of course it will be promising when game developers start flocking to use this technology.

The most important thing that we can feel with this high refresh rate technology is the touch response, or touch sampling which will also be high. Making control when playing games can be more accurate and take place quickly.

realme UI 4.0 and Built-in Features

Coming in early 2023, realme 10 Pro 5G, the product we are reviewing this time, has been found to carry the latest UI, namely realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13. This will save us time to update independently, and we can immediately enjoy the built-in features of Android 13 and realme UI 4.0.

The only thing that is annoying in terms of appearance and experience is the presence of an app drawer layer that is present by default, which requires us to go deeper to find newly installed applications. But don’t worry, like in its sibling OS, we can change the appearance or options of this app drawer from the settings section. So it’s not a big problem either.

The rest of the realme UI 4.0 appearance looks clean, neat and fairly to the point. What we need will be easy to find and execute.

The audio on the realme 10 Pro 5G is also interesting for us to review because it collaborates with Dirac Research. This can be seen from the presence of Real Sound Technology and also Clarity Stereo Speaker to enjoy audio that can be adjusted to existing presets. And for those who need it, there is also a 200% UltraBoom Speaker feature. By pressing the volume up button to exceed the maximum limit.

Those who might be stuck in the crowds of the market, but have to call their mother about shopping, will need this feature. Or those who are gathering with family, making video calls with relatives out of town who cannot attend, can also use it.

To enjoy HD audio via Bluetooth, this cellphone already supports almost all HD audio codecs, including LDAC and LHDC. It is capable of listening to music via your favorite applications, or for watching videos and drama series.

In addition, realme UI 4.0 also brings the Dynamic RAM feature. This feature will increase the RAM size on the phone by temporarily borrowing memory from internal storage.

Supported by Snapdragon 695 5G

Going into the hardware review, the realme 10 Pro 5G is supported by a chipset made by Qualcomm, namely the Snapdragon 695 5G. This chipset carries a CPU, GPU, Memory and a number of other chips that can save power usage and are also known to be able to display a more stable framerate compared to other products that use other chipsets (equivalent).

This SoC carries an 8-core CPU, with a configuration of 2 Kryo 660 Gold cores with a clock speed of 2.2 GHz and 6 Kryo 660 Silver cores with a speed of 1.8 GHz. Also a mid-to-high-end GPU, namely Adreno 619. 8 GB LPDDR 4X RAM and 128 GB UFS 2.2 ROM.

Having a 6nm fabrication, the distance between each cathode is fairly close and allows for efficient power usage, as well as the addition of more varied AI chips.

We tried to calculate the performance of the realme 10 Pro 5G with several benchmark applications and here are the results. What is certain is that this cellphone has performance on average for mid-range cellphones, and can even exceed it. This was seen during the realme 10 Pro 5G review process. When we tried several editing applications, cameras and games at almost the same time.

Large Battery with 33W SuperVOOC Charging

The realme 10 5G smartphone is supported by a large capacity battery, namely 5000 mAh. With an efficient SoC and realme UI that is also safe from excessive power usage, this capacity is able to support our use during the realme 10 Pro 5G review process. in the last 5 days only charged once.

The charging process is also fairly fast. Using 33W SuperVOOC charging technology, the cellphone battery can be charged from zero to 50% in just 29 minutes. And as we already know, SuperVOOC has been proven safe because it carries a 4-core chipset to identify charging conditions both on the cellphone and in the adapter section.

108MP Camera with Bokeh Flare Portrait

Moving on to the camera section, realme still provides the street photography 3.0 feature that makes it different from other phones. Carrying two cameras on the back, namely 108 MP with a Samsung HM6 sensor and a 2 MP camera for portrait needs, also 1 16 MP selfie camera on the front, this phone is capable of producing sharp photos in optimal lighting conditions.

With a camera sensor capable of reproducing images to 108 MP, the photos can look sharp and solid even when they have to be cropped to enlarge. It’s just that we have to use it in supportive lighting conditions and also a stable position.

For color, the photo results show attractive colors. There is an effort from AI to control color based on the type of object read by AI. The results are good, most of the efforts succeeded in giving color and bringing the photos to life.

Likewise for use at night. The Night Mode feature on this cellphone camera successfully produces detailed night photos without any significant difficulty.

Interestingly in the portrait section, the realme 10 Pro 5G also provides a Bokeh Flare Portrait effect that can change the light in the background to appear smoother, rounder, so that the portrait photo results will look more dramatic.

Unfortunately for video recording, the realme 10 Pro 5G camera that we reviewed (8/128 GB variant) is only capable of recording video at FHD resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) at a frame rate of 30 fps only.

Bonus for you: realme TechLife Air Purifier

In the realme 10 Pro Series launch event just now, a realme TechLife home device was also introduced, in the form of an Air Purifier Pro. This device is a new smart device made by realme that we can recommend to have in your home because controlling it is very easy, if you are a realme cellphone user.

Already a smart home ecosystem, the realme 10 Pro 5G cellphone that we reviewed or other realme, can communicate with the realme TechLife Air Purifier Pro. Control it remotely, and create a schedule that can be adjusted so that the air in our home can be cleaner, free from harmful particles and viruses.

This device, which is capable of purifying the air in a fairly large room, is said to be able to filter 99.98% of solid particles in the air up to 0.3 microns in size.

You can place this product with a beautiful design in the corner of the room without reducing the aesthetic value of the room. It might even increase it. In the form of a rectangular block that is lightweight because it is made of white plastic material, the air purifier pro can fit with any wall paint.

This device uses around 45 Watts of power. With a number of settings that can be easily adjusted via buttons and an informative screen. And sold at a price of IDR 1,299,000.-

Conclusion of the realme 10 Pro 5G Review

The realme 10 Pro 5G smartphone presents a nearly bezel-less screen holding experience. The right and left edges of the phone are limited by the screen. It should be noted that the screen panel carried is not AMOLED, meaning there are limitations to the screen shape, but the realme 10 Pro 5G is able to display it nicely on a flat surface with thin edges.

In addition to the screen, this phone also carries several technologies that are needed, including a capable battery size with 33W fast charging which will make our lives easier without having to wait for the phone to be fully charged.
