realme 10 Pro 5G Coca-Cola Edition Reviews
Design – The Biggest Change
The biggest change in this limited edition product is in the design. Previously, the realme 10 Pro 5G was presented in only two color choices, now it is given a unique color, so much so that it reminds us of a Coca-Cola can because there is a touch of matte metallic color that resembles aluminum, also with the Coca-Cola logo cropped as if it disappeared in the curved part of the can.
There is also a combination of black and red which are Coca-Cola’s corporate colors and also give a classic effect. In this section, there are still two Halo camera lenses, aka rounded, which are the hallmark of the realme 10 Pro 5G series.
Screen and UI
Actually, nothing has changed on the screen. It is still an attractive screen with an IPS LCD panel with a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. With a span of 6.72 inches and a resolution of 2400 x 1800 pixels. Including the side bezel which is still made thin at only 1 mm, making the screen feel more spacious for all needs.
But on the default UI side, realme has made a number of unique changes. Starting from the Coca-Cola theme, with a background image of soda bubbles on a Coca-Cola drink which also displays a gradation from dark black at the bottom to bright brown at the top.
The application icon is also made in such a way that it is in line with the Coca-Cola display theme. Almost all application icons have been overhauled, especially the default system applications, such as the settings icon which is usually given a gear image, now has a red Coca-Cola bottle cap.
While the Google and third-party application icons are only given a red circle accent on the outside so that they remain in harmony with the other application icons.
Not only to the icon display, realme has also added a number of iconic audios. For example, the distinctive tone or jingle of Coca-Cola aka Cola Official Music, the sound of the bottle cap opening followed by the sound of soda coming out of the bottle hole or called Open Happiness, and the sound of soda breaking when poured into a glass or called Cola Bubbles.
These sounds and music have become your default ringtones, for calls, text messages and even camera shutter sounds. So make sure you understand this before taking photos in a crowd, unless you are looking for attention.
Apart from what is mentioned above, nothing has changed. Including the dynamic RAM capability of up to 8GB.
Chipset and Memory – This time 256 GB ROM
For chipset matters, the realme 10 Pro 5G Coa-Cola edition relies on the Snapdragon 695 5G chipset. This SoC carries an 8-core CPU, with a configuration of 2 Kryo 660 Gold cores with a clock speed of 2.2 GHz and 6 Kryo 660 Silver cores with a speed of 1.8 GHz. Also a mid-to-high class GPU, namely Adreno 619. 8 GB LPDDR 4X RAM and 128 GB UFS 2.2 ROM.
The difference is, this time there is only one memory variant available. Namely 8/256 GB. Different from the previous product we reviewed which was the 8/128 GB variant. There shouldn’t be much change, especially since the amount of RAM is fairly the same.
And it turned out to be true. When we tried benchmarking with the same benchmark application, this phone also produced more or less the same value. It’s just that with a larger ROM size, we can store more photos and other files.
Battery and Fast Charging
Nothing has changed in this section and that’s what we expected. Like the realme 10 Pro 5G that we reviewed earlier, the 5000 mAh battery capacity it carries is sufficient for our daily activities. Even when used as a navigation and photography phone on the occasion of the 2023 Eid homecoming trip, this phone can last 3 days without charging at all.
Something we can enjoy on a new phone with a large capacity. This battery life will certainly decrease over time, but with a track record like the one above, it seems that this product’s battery can last several years until we feel something has changed.
Interestingly, this phone is also equipped with fast charging technology that is proven to be safe, namely SuperVOOC with a power output of 33W. Theoretically, it can charge the battery from zero to 50% in just 30 minutes.
Camera
Likewise in the photography section. The realme 10 Pro 5G Coca-Cola Edition camera is the same camera as the previous version of the product, which did not disappoint us. Taking pictures is more in tune thanks to the Street Photography 3.0 feature which makes it easy for us to enter the camera feature quickly and provides a number of interesting effects with a 1980s Coca-Cola theme.
This cellphone camera adopts Hypershot Imaging Architecture technology which was previously only present in the GT series. So it is natural that the photo results feel good, and taking pictures is more fun.
Including to capture moments at night or when the light is not on our side.
Conclusion
Just a reminder, the price of the realme 10 Pro 5G 8/256 GB variant is sold for IDR 4,999,000 at launch. This means that with the addition of design, software and a number of other Coca-Cola knick-knacks, the realme 10 Pro 5G Coca-Cola Edition is sold at the same price. Interesting, isn’t it? Something that is rarely found on other collaboration phones. Still maintaining what is best, and the price of the regular variant, then adding the value of my favorite carbonated drink theme when I was young, then this limited edition product can be a collection product that is used everyday.
