If you are interested, you can buy it directly via the realme online store starting at 12.00 WIB this afternoon, after this article was first published.
Design
One positive thing that is maintained by the realme C51 is its serious design. This phone carries a shape like other smartphones on the market. The wide screen fills the surface of the phone and the back cover is designed in such a way that it still looks attractive.
This time, realme C51 brings two color choices, namely mint green and carbon black. The product we reviewed is mint green, where the back cover is light green with a sandy texture under the clear layer. It is not visible if we don’t really focus on paying attention to it.
The size of the phone feels just right for the user’s medium to large hand size. Every corner can be reached by fingers although it takes a little more effort when trying to reach the top of the screen with one hand.
This phone brings back a sharp edge design, aka a box. We can put this phone standing with its edge on a flat table. As boxy as that.
And as usual, realme includes a silicone case to protect the phone from minor bumps and scratches with other surfaces.
This time it is dark transparent, no longer bright. So the positive is that it looks cooler, but specifically for the mint green color it will cover the beauty of the original casing color.
Still on the back cover, this time the camera lens is again displayed rounded and separated from each other. Like a water bubble left floating in the air.
The realme C51 smartphone carries a fingerprint sensor that combines with the power button function on the right side of the phone. One side that is the same as the volume button.
While on the opposite side we will only find the SIM card slot and MicroSD Card. And the USB type-C port is accompanied by a 3.5 mm audio port present at the bottom of the phone.
Display and UI
The realme C51 smartphone carries a fairly wide screen, namely 6.74 inches with an IPS panel and 90Hz frame rate.
The screen resolution is at 720 x 1600 pixels or equivalent to HD+. There is nothing wrong with this resolution because the images, both videos and photos, are still displayed solidly. Especially when compared to the diagonal size of the screen it carries.
Like other realme entry-level smartphones , the UI carried by this phone is also a budget version of the UI called realme UI T version based on Android 13.
Several features such as the gallery are replaced by Google Photos, and several other functions that made you feel at home on previous realme phones may disappear and be replaced by Google’s built-in features, reminding us of the Android One UI.
Interestingly, the realme C51 carries a Mini Capsule notification feature. Allowing the phone screen to display notifications in an iconic notch design at the top of the screen, at first glance reminding us of the notch screen of phones from different OS camps.
Cosmetically, it does look attractive. Coupled with the NFC feature, this phone will be a weapon to make its users’ lives more practical. Whether it’s for transactions, or for connecting to other devices without complicated protocols.
Memory and Performance
In addition to carrying a slim design with epic boxy edges, the realme C51 is also a million-dollar phone with a large internal memory capacity. Especially for the phone we are reviewing.
realme C51 provides a product with 128 GB of internal memory. With 4 GB of RAM that can be upgraded using the dynamic RAM feature to 8 GB.
With the same RAM size, you can get another variant with 64 GB of internal memory.
Both have been supported with additional memory up to 2TB. You can store many photos, videos and documents on this phone.
As for the chipset, although it sounds like one of the ‘sacrificed’ LEGO pieces, realme has carefully chosen the UniSoC Tiger T612 chipset. With a fabrication of 12 nm, this chipset carries an 8-intu CPU, consisting of 2 cortex A78 chips and 6 cortex A55 chips. Quite up to date.
It’s just that the clock speed is uniform at 1.8 GHz, which makes it very reliable for everyday activities, such as multitasking and regular mobile phones, but it has to work harder when entering more demanding performance.
As far as we feel, there is no problem when we do activities such as taking pictures, recording videos, typing, watching and editing photos. But for playing games, we have to restrain ourselves and adjust to the capabilities of the GPU carried, namely the Mali-G57.
From the Benchmark results we can see the following data.
GeekBench 5: 344 (single core), 1420 (multi-core) RAM 4+4GB
Battery and Fast Charging
The realme C51 smartphone carries a large capacity battery of 5000 mAh. The standard capacity of today’s cellphones that require data connections all day long.
Interestingly, despite its price of a million, this phone has brought 33W SuperVOOC battery charging technology. Capable of charging the battery from 0 to 50% in just 28-30 minutes.
Camera
realme C51 carries two cameras on the back. Consisting of a 50MP f/1.7 camera and a 0.3MP B/W camera.
In a bright light environment, the results are quite satisfying. We can play with the angle of the object and lighting to get a proper photo to share on social media.
We also tried using it to photograph the conditions of the night market and the results were still okay.
Meanwhile, on the front, the realme C51 carries a 5 MP camera with f/2.22.
Conclusion
In addition to the design that remains slick, the realme C51 also brings contemporary features that are starting to be needed by today’s mobile phone users. Reliable performance, NFC, large battery with fast charging SuperVOOC 33W, fingerprint sensor, the largest internal memory size of 128 GB in its class, and a camera that will be ready to support recording special moments.
