Realme Narzo 20 Review

After successfully introducing fast charging technology, SuperDart 65W on the realme X50 Pro 5G and realme 7 Pro, realme is once again bringing its “charm” to a more affordable product for young people. In line with the theme of young people who are active, like to play games, and don’t want to wait long for the cellphone charging process, the narzo 20 Pro is indeed the most fitting to carry realme’s favorite feature.

But that doesn’t mean that other parts are left alone. Design, for example, this part is still polished nicely. Again using unique coloring that is difficult to capture using a camera, because it will depend on the angle of the incoming light. As if its beauty is only intended for our eyes and those around us who see it directly with our own eyes.

Price: IDR 3,399,000
Color: White Knight, Black Ninja
Sales Package: realme Narzo 20 Pro, USB Type C data cable, 65W SuperDart adapter, protector case, pin ejector, manual, Protective film (installed), Warranty card.

This phone offers a lot of interesting things, and here is a brief review.

New Colors with New Patterns

Every realme (and narzo) product carries a unique coloring pattern. Giving a fresh impression at every launch. No exception with the realme narzo 20 Pro. Introducing two colors with unique names, namely White Knight and Black Ninja, this product also shows a reflective back cover surface and displays a firm arrow line pattern that stabs downwards.

This arrow line pattern will appear from certain angles, and with the right direction of light. Because the surface color itself is so reflective like a mirror, it is difficult for us to capture it with a camera without showing the cameraman’s shadow.

Although it looks like a mirror, the surface of this back cover is not as slippery as we thought. realme managed to maintain traction so that the surface still feels comfortable when held. Unfortunately, this effort also makes the back cover easy to get dirty due to sweat from the user’s palms.

Luckily, the narzo 20 Pro has included a protective case that can solve this dirty problem. At the same time, it will provide extra protection for the frame and body of the phone even better.

Still on the back, we will also find a narzo designed by realme writing, parallel to the camera panel which is neatly arranged on the upper left side of the back cover.

Moving to the front, the IPS screen fills the entire front with only a small bezel around it. It is so thin that when the screen is on, this bezel is almost invisible.

The front camera is placed on a punch hole design that occupies the left corner of the screen. Providing flexibility when we play games or watch multimedia content.

The SIM card slot, which has three compartments, namely 2 for SIM cards and one for additional memory cards, is placed on the left side of the phone, along with the volume button. While in the opposite direction there is a power button that also carries a fingerprint sensor. With a physical sensor placed on the right side, the fingerprint recognition process will feel more ergonomic and most importantly, it will be relatively faster.

Ultra Smooth 90Hz Screen

On the screen, the narzo 20 Pro carries the same specifications as its predecessor, the realme narzo. It’s not a bad thing, it’s actually worth appreciating because it still maintains a screen with a high refresh rate, allowing us to play games more competitively and watch multimedia content more comfortably.

Supported by a new SoC that is better than the previous narzo, of course we can hope for improvements in terms of display through this screen. Offering a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, where normally 60Hz will pamper our eyes, even when opening applications or just browsing for photos of exes on social media.

Carrying an IPS type panel, it also provides a positive experience when playing games for a long time, providing a consistent touch screen response even though there is an increase in temperature on the screen. Interesting, isn’t it?

realme UI based on Android 10

realme narzo 20 Pro also brings back realme UI. Thus we can get a number of advantages. In addition to a clean and easily customizable appearance, we will also get a number of additional features that will help our smartphone life.

Through a light update, we will get the SoLoop video editor application. So far, it is the most elegant default video editor, does not require purchases and does not leave a watermark with audio and templates that are already provided for free use.

This typical ColorOS video editor is easy to use, just by selecting a number of photos or videos recorded through the default camera. Then the system will transform it into a video with cool music. We can determine how this video is edited. Is it automatic and let the smartphone surprise us with interesting videos, or manual so that the resulting video can be as expected.

In addition to Soloop, we can also find the Game Space feature that will filter notifications and disconnect unnecessary connections so that we focus on playing games, Super Power Saving mode if suddenly our battery is dying but we still need it, and many more features that reside in the Narzo 20 Pro camera settings. We will discuss it in the camera section.

Mediatek Helio G95 SoC with Carbon Cooling System

In theory, the technical specifications of the Mediatek Helio G95 chipset offer slick performance, both for multiprocessor performance and for each single processor. This is not surprising considering that this processor is indeed built for fairly heavy gaming performance.

For this cellphone class, this chipset is the right solution to get fast processor performance. Reliable even though there may be some things that need to be adjusted.

But one thing that cannot be denied is how this SoC performs good power management so that it is able to maintain continuity of gaming, complete with fast charging so that gaming no longer needs to be stopped because the charging process takes a long time.

When trying to play games that require high hardware specs, in automatic settings, aka selected by the system, its performance can satisfy us. Although in some games such as Genshin Impact there are some things that need to be set so that it can be as smooth as playing similar games on the realme 7 Pro.

The realme narzo 20 Pro which will be released in Indonesia is the highest variant with 8GB RAM and 128 GB ROM. It is enough to meet the needs of gamers in the 3 million range. As a bonus, we can save video recordings of playing games or beautiful night photos in large quantities.

4500 mAh Battery and 65W SuperDart Charge

As mentioned earlier, realme narzo 20 Pro carries 65W SuperDart Charge super-fast charging technology. With this technology, we can charge realme narzo 20 Pro in just 38 minutes from zero to full.

Thanks to 65W SuperDart, charging in 3 minutes can get 14% battery which is enough to be used for hours of writing articles while opening a web browser, occasionally watching YouTube, opening Instagram and consistently opening WhatsApp.

By accommodating a voltage of 10V and a strong electric current of 6.5 A, the charger adapter will produce 65Watts of power which will be distributed to the smartphone so that charging will be more efficient.

Then you don’t need to worry about overheating or burning. The power of 65 Watts is indeed greater than most smartphone chargers, for that realme has prepared several technologies to overcome unwanted things during the use of this SuperDart Charge.

Some of these include overload protection, fuses, and temperature sensors.

4 Cameras 48MP with AI

realme narzo 20 Pro carries a configuration of 4 main cameras. The first is 1 48MP camera with a large aperture of f/1.8 and a 6P lens. with a 4-in-1 Quad Bayer pixel binning mechanism, the sensor combines 4 adjacent pixels into one large pixel, increasing the resolution and quality of the images taken, so that they are more detailed.

Next, there is a 119-degree ultra-wide camera lens with an f/2.3 aperture and 8MP resolution. Users do not need to step back to take photos of objects that are spread out in front of them.

Then there are two 2MP cameras that function as macro lenses and B&W Portrait to provide a depth effect on photos. Both carry an f/2.4 aperture.

As with the realme 7 and realme 7 Pro, we will find a number of effects on the realme narzo 20 Pro night photos. Namely Cyberpunk, Flamingo and Modern Gold. Although it is now not equipped with color portrait video, the video shooting mode still carries an ultra steady feature that will try to eliminate the shaking effect on videos when handheld.

Then moving on to the selfie camera, which is again embedded in the screen aka in-display selfie camera, realme narzo 20 Pro carries a 16MP camera lens with a Sony IMX471 sensor. This camera with an f/2.1 aperture has a number of important features for taking selfies, including nightscape, panorama, beauty and slomo video recording up to 120 fps.
