Entry-level smartphones priced at around 2 million Rupiah are still the favorite among mobile phone users in Indonesia.
It is not surprising that most mobile phone vendors continue to bombard the market with the latest products, one of which is Samsung through the Galaxy A06, which we will review its advantages and performance.
Although sold at a very affordable price of around 1.4 million for the 4/64GB variant, the Galaxy A06 has received a number of improvements and the latest features.
For example, the Knox Vault security feature is one of the main advantages of Samsung’s mid to high line of phones. With this feature, the Galaxy A06 is able to protect the phone from various malicious files that can steal data and so on.

Samsung Galaxy A06 Reviews
Curious about the true performance of the Galaxy A06? Check out the full review of the advantages and superior features of the Galaxy A06 below.
Charming Design
When compared to phones in the same class, the Samsung Galaxy A06 certainly looks cooler and more attractive.
Here, Samsung’s distinctive character really stands out. Not just copying the concept of a flagship phone, like most other entry-level products.
The Galaxy A06 looks premium with a smooth matte finish, which not only provides luxury but also comfort.
This slightly rough and non-slippery coating makes the Galaxy A06 fit in the hand.
Not only that, the thin and light boxy body profile makes the Samsung Galaxy A06 easy to use. Even for long-term use.
Please note, the thickness of this cellphone body is only about 8mm and weighs 189 grams.
Oh yes, one more thing, the presence of a unique grip often called a key island on the right side of the body adds comfort when held.
The minimalist camera module on the back blends perfectly with the overall design, providing a clean and simple look.
For the compartment and control panel, the Galaxy A06 places the volume and power buttons on the right side of the body. The power/lockscreen button also functions as a fingerprint sensor panel.
On the left, there is a SIM tray which consists of three trays (slots) for 2 operator SIM cards and 1 for a microSD card.
While at the bottom, there is a 3.5mm audio jack, microphone, USB-C port and speaker cone.
Overall, the Galaxy A06 is a perfect blend of style and functionality, offering a look that is much more expensive than its price.
Wide Screen
As a device to support activities, the presence of a wide screen with good color sharpness is a must.
Samsung has concocted the Samsung Galaxy A06 into a device that truly meets the expectations of its users.
The PLS LCD screen of this cellphone measures 6.7 inches with HD+ 720×1600 pixel resolution, and has sharpness and color brightness that pamper the eyes.
The screen concept carried by this cellphone is usually referred to by Samsung as the Infinity-U Display. Because at the top of the screen there is a selfie camera with a water drop concept (Dot drop).
Like most entry-level cellphones, the Galaxy A06 screen still has a fairly thick bezel area. Especially on the chin, aka the bottom side.
For comfort, this cellphone screen supports a 60Hz refresh rate. Although it is fairly standard, its performance in presenting smoothness when scrolling is not in doubt.
With a large screen size, the activity of enjoying entertainment, especially watching streaming videos, feels more exciting.
Unfortunately, for this need, the Galaxy A06 does not support stereo speakers. So, for audio quality it feels standard.
Strong Performance
Considering its relatively cheap price tag, the Galaxy A06 is indeed not positioned to provide extraordinary hardware performance.
In terms of chipset, Samsung itself does not use its own chipset and instead embeds the MediaTek Helio G85 in this phone. A standard chipset with 12nm fabrication.
In terms of configuration, the Helio G85 consists of an octa-core processor with a configuration of two Cortex-A75 cores running up to 2.0 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores working up to 1.8 GHz. For the GPU, the Galaxy A06 is equipped with a dual-core Mali-G52 which is also quite mediocre.
Not only that, the Samsung Galaxy A06 also has limitations in terms of memory variant options. Please note, in the Indonesian market currently only the Galaxy A06 4GB RAM variant is available with a choice of 64GB or 128GB storage.
But just as a consideration, if you have a little more money, it’s better to choose the Samsung Galaxy A06 with 128GB storage variant, so you can store files and other data more satisfactorily.
The plus point is, the Galaxy A06 includes a microSD expansion memory slot with a storage capacity of up to 1TB. Satisfy for storing downloaded Korean drama videos and so on.
However, what needs to be underlined is that the type of storage used by the Galaxy A06 is still limited to eMMC 5.1. It’s quite old-fashioned, considering that today’s cellphones already use the UFS type which has faster processing capabilities.
As previously mentioned, the hardware performance of the Samsung Galaxy A06 is indeed standard, so for those of you who need it as a device for playing games, you should consider it carefully.
For standard games like Free Fire, the Galaxy A06 accelerates and plays it smoothly. Likewise with Mobile Legends. In fact, the frame rate achieved can reach a maximum of up to 60fps.
What about Genshin Impact? better “don’t do it, bro”, because the hardware specifications it carries are recorded as inadequate.
When tested using a benchmark application, the overall performance of the Galaxy A06 is still quite good with a score reaching 200 thousand using AnTuTu version 10. You can see the benchmark results in our Samsung Galaxy A06 review.
One UI 6.1 Based on Android 14
The Galaxy A06 runs Samsung’s One UI 6.1 operating system, which is built on the latest Android 14.
Technically, this is the same latest version of One UI as in the Flagship Galaxy S24 Series.
Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy A06 will get two future Android updates and four years of security patches. This is the latest standard of Samsung software support for non-flagship devices today.
Some of the interesting updates in One UI 6 include a redesigned Quick Panel, better notification visualization, a simpler and improved camera app, and more advanced gallery and editing tools, among others.
The Samsung Galaxy A06 still gets a fairly complete version of One UI 6.1 with a similar interface to the Galaxy S series and most of the same features.
In addition to presenting a fresher interface, the Samsung Galaxy A06 is also equipped with Samsung’s flagship security feature, Knox Vault with EALS5+ Certified.
This feature is likened to a security system with a layered and very secure security level.
Samsung Knox Vault is able to secure PINs, passwords, and other personal information even more securely.
What’s quite interesting about the security system on the Galaxy A06 is the Auto Blocker feature. As we tested in this Samsung Galaxy A06 review, the Auto Blocker feature is able to protect the phone from malicious applications and activities.
For example, when fraud is rampant via WhatsApp or short messages in the form of wedding invitations, lottery prizes, and proof of delivery of packages containing malicious files and malware, the Auto Blocker feature on the Galaxy A06 will automatically block the file so that it cannot be accessed or opened from the phone.
In addition to Auto Blocker, there are other security features on the Galaxy A06, namely Maintenance Mode and Secure Folder, which distinguish this phone from competitors in its class.
50MP Camera for Photo Hunting
As a cheap and cheerful phone, the presence of a camera is actually only a complement. On the Galaxy A06, you will find a camera setup with a look typical of previous generation Samsung entry-level phones.
Although it is claimed to bring major changes through two cameras on the back, namely the 50MP ISOCELL (S5K) JN1 and 2MP cameras, in terms of function only the main camera can be optimized for photo hunting.
By default, the Galaxy A06‘s main camera produces 12.5MP resolution photos that look ordinary. However, as we did in this Samsung Galaxy A06 advantages review, it will be more optimal if you activate 50MP mode.
In this 50MP mode, the shots look sharper with fairly accurate color tones and image details.
The Galaxy A06 does not have a special telephoto camera, but you can still do 2x digital zoom which can be accessed via the camera viewfinder.
The 8MP front camera for selfies is quite good, especially considering the limitations of the hardware it has.
The face looks natural with good skin tones, although the skin texture details are not very sharp. Dynamic range can also be improved.
In low light conditions, the Samsung Galaxy A06 camera performance is less than satisfactory. Although the details are quite good, noise and image softness are very noticeable throughout the frame, and camera focus is often difficult to obtain.
The Galaxy A06 comes with a night mode, but you have to activate it manually. This option can at least improve the quality of the shots, especially to clean up noise in the frame.
Both the rear and front cameras of the Galaxy A06 can be used to record 1080p videos. The quality is of course not too optimal.
However, just to document exciting moments when hanging out with your bestie, and uploading them to social media is quite okay.
Long-Lasting Battery
In addition to design, performance and camera, consumers are also generally looking for phones with long battery capacity and durability as a requirement in choosing a new phone.
Fortunately, the Galaxy A06 already has a large capacity battery and has become the new standard for today’s phones, namely 5000 mAh.
In our review of the advantages of the Samsung Galaxy A06, this phone recorded a battery performance of 13 hours 45 minutes for fairly active use.
Interestingly, the Samsung Galaxy A06 is supported by 25W fast charging technology. However, the charging adapter is sold separately.
Conclusion
For those of you who have limited funds but want to have a quality cellphone, the Samsung Galaxy A06 seems worthy of being targeted.
The combination of elegant design, and supported by a number of superior features such as Auto Blocker make this cellphone the right choice for everyday use.
A large battery capacity with long-lasting performance is also an added value that is quite important in convincing you of the right choice.
However, the camera capabilities and hardware performance are fairly ordinary, and also need special attention. Especially for those of you who like to exist on social media and are also addicted to mobile gaming.
