Based on Xiaomi’s claims, the first sale of the Redmi 10C was immediately sold out by consumers. Not without reason. The lure of a price of less than 2 million rupiah, but equipped with mid-range specifications is the main factor that makes this device sell like hotcakes.

Xiaomi Redmi 10C Reviews

A More Attractive Design

Different from the previous entry-level Redmi series, the affordable model in the Redmi line The Redmi 10 Series comes with a newer design.

When you first take it out of the packaging box, a different feel immediately emerges.

The body looks sturdy with a polycarbonate material that feels solid and comfortable to hold. Not fragile like most entry-level phones.

The body dimensions are ‘slim’, with a thickness of only about 8.3mm. The weight is still relatively light.

On the back, the Redmi 10C features a diagonal structure with a rough texture. It doesn’t feel slippery even when held with sweaty hands or placed on a slanted surface.

Still on this side, the main focus that makes the appearance of the Redmi 10C look different is the box-shaped camera module model and is in a wider black frame.

Xiaomi itself has implemented the concept of a box-shaped camera module on the Redmi 9C. It’s just that there is no additional frame like the Redmi 10C.

On this black frame there is also a round fingerprint sensor panel, on the top of which is written Redmi.

Another compartment on the body of this device is a triple-SIM slot, which consists of two nano SIM-card slots and one for microSD.

On the bottom side, there is a speaker cone adjacent to the USB-C port and microphone. While the 3.5mm audio jack port is on the top side.

The placement of the audio port is quite different from other devices in its class, providing comfort when you want to listen to music using a headset. No need to turn the phone upside down when placed in a pocket.

In the sales box itself, Xiaomi does not include a headset. There is only a data cable and a 10W charger adapter.

Wide screen, Supports Netflix HD

As an entry-level smartphone, Redmi 10C still uses an IPS screen with HD+ resolution. This DotDrop screen model has a size of 6.71 inches with an aspect ratio of 20:9, quite wide and of course will provide comfort in watching entertainment content.

The plus point,  The screen of this device is equipped with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 anti-scratch layer, as well as Native Damage Resistance (NDR) technology as an important technology to protect the screen from scratches from sharp objects, and can even keep it safe when accidentally dropped.

Based on technical data, the Redmi 10C screen supports a standard refresh rate of 60Hz by default. It’s still reasonable, considering that this device is in the cheap class.

Even so, in terms of comfort when browsing content on the screen and opening various applications, it is quite capable and smooth.

Xiaomi also provides various settings to maximize screen capabilities. Starting from Dark Mode support, Reading Mode, Color Scheme to other standard options.

But what’s most interesting in our opinion is the presence of Widevine L1 certification support, which makes this device’s screen ideal for displaying Netflix and Amazon Prime Video video content.

This capability is good news for Korean drama lovers to see their favorite artists even better.

For multimedia matters, unfortunately Redmi 10C only includes a mono speaker. Although the sound burst sounds clear and loud, it still feels less than optimal. To get around this, you can use a headset or TWS.

Best Camera in Its Class

Redmi 10C comes with dual camera support on the back. What’s special is that the main camera sensor used has the largest size in its class, which is 50 MP. This camera has a fairly large lens aperture, f/1.8, which is supported by 4-in-1 pixel binning technology.

While the second camera is a depth sensor with a power of 2 MP, which functions to produce photos with a bokeh effect, aka blur.

Meanwhile, for those who like selfies, the Redmi 10C has a 5 MP camera with an f/2.2 lens aperture which is of course also equipped with artificial intelligence (AI).

For Xiaomi product users, they seem to understand the character of the camera in each line of their devices. Although still relatively standard, Xiaomi Fans often boast about the results of Xiaomi device photos.

Well, in this Redmi 10C Xiaomi again wants to show its ability to design devices that suit consumer needs. Specifically for the camera sector, Xiaomi has paid enough attention to every detail.

Various contemporary features are even included, starting from Night Mode for night photos in viral locations, Portrait to produce unique shots, to the Pro option for those who want to hone their photography skills.

Xiaomi also does not turn a blind eye to the booming short video trend through several video sharing application platforms. For this need, Redmi 10C is equipped with Short Video, Slow motion and also time-lapse options.

For those who want to further explore video recording capabilities, Redmi 10C also includes the Movie Frame option. Oh yes, for the video recording quality itself, this device supports 1080p @ 30fps for both the front and rear cameras.

Regarding photo quality, it seems there is no need to doubt it. The character of an entry-level smartphone is still strongly felt in decorating the camera shots of this device. In ideal lighting conditions, the resulting photos are quite sharp and clear.

For an entry-level smartphone, the color reproduction quality is quite good with a dynamic range that feels optimal and is worthy of being uploaded to social media. However, if you want to maximize it even more, you can still edit directly from the photo gallery.

Here, you can add filters, make adjustments, and add text and stickers as needed.

For sharper photo quality with a large size, Redmi 10C also offers a choice of 50 MP mode.

Mid-Range Performance

In addition to the camera and screen, hardware performance is the main attraction of Redmi 10C in attracting potential consumers.

In this device, Xiaomi has embedded the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset built with 6nm fabrication. The processor is octa-core with a clock speed of up to 2.4GHz. Currently, the chipset used by Redmi 10C is the fastest in its class. In fact, it is claimed to be able to compete with mid-range smartphones priced at more than 4 million.

To support the performance of the chipset, this device comes with two memory options, namely a variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage or a model with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

Interestingly, Xiaomi Redmi 10C is equipped with a 2GB RAM expansion that utilizes part of the internal storage. So the total RAM provided reaches 6GB. In our opinion, this is more than enough, and of course its performance will be able to accelerate well in running multitasking functions.

This is also inseparable from the support of UFS 2.2 technology memory which can execute applications faster and smoother, as well as support for additional microSD storage memory with a maximum capacity of up to 1TB.

So what about its performance for playing games? Looking at the technical data above, it seems that there is no need to doubt its ability to run favorite games on the Xiaomi Redmi 10C.

Not only MOBA genre games such as Mobile Legends and AOV can be played smoothly with high graphic settings, Battle Royale games such as CODM, PUBG Mobile to Apex Legends can still be played stably.

For those who are still curious about how tough the performance of this device is when calculated, you can see the benchmark table using several favorite benchmark applications.

5000 mAh Battery + 18W Fast Charging

It feels less solid if we talk about performance but don’t mention the performance of the resource (battery). In the Redmi 10C, Xiaomi presents a large capacity battery, namely 5000 mAh.

This capacity is certainly sufficient in supplying power for various needs. Based on technical data, the battery of this device can last up to two days non-stop with standard use.

From a full battery condition, it can provide up to 29 hours of reading content, 190 hours of listening to music, 19 hours of playing videos and 11 hours of playing games.

Throughout the test, there were no significant problems with the performance of this battery. Moreover, the Redmi 10C itself is supported by a fairly good power management system. In fact, through the Battery saver and Ultra battery saver features, at least it can be used to save power even more.

For those who like to travel, this device already supports fast charging technology. So, you don’t have to wait long to recharge the battery. By default, the fast charging carried by the Redmi 10C is 18W.

Unfortunately, the Redmi 10C sales package only includes a charger with a standard adapter, namely 10W. Well, for those who want to enjoy maximum fast charging capabilities, they have to spend extra money to buy it.

Conclusion

For those of you who crave fast performance and always glorify chipset specifications, it seems that the Redmi 10C can be the right choice.

With a price tag of only around IDR 2 million for the highest variant, you have got mid-range class specifications which of course offer quite powerful performance in its class.

Not only performance, the camera carried by the Redmi 10C can also at least meet the needs of making photos or short video content for those of you who like to exist on social media and short video sharing platforms.

Well, for those who are interested and want to have it, the Redmi 10C can be obtained for IDR 1,899,000 for the variant 4/64GB or Rp 2,099,000 for the 4/128GB model.
